Holiday Season
(clique aqui para versão em português) Better late than never, right? Even though we are in mid-January I still want to share with you my experience throughout the Holidays. As this is always a tough time for me for some years now, I was able to objectively look back now and write something I think it is worth sharing. Oh well… How should I start this? If you’ve been following my adventures through veganism you might have noticed that these were my first Holidays as a vegan. Therefore, I had to adjust some of my behaviors, like making my own food, and to have conversations that sometimes I didn’t…

Welcome 2019!
(clique aqui para versão em português) And I’m back! In the beginning of December I went to Brussels for two weeks to visit family and I was really nervous about having the time to blog. I thought that was what was expected of me as a wannabe blogger. I had to constantly feed my audience (do I even have one?) with information, opinions, recipes… and for the first time the blog left me anxious. This obviously defeated the purpose of having the blog. At least for me. So I decided to take the time off to rethink my strategy and what I wanted of all this. When I came…

Week 4 – The End Of The Challenge!
(clique aqui para versão em português) Suddenly this is it. The thirty days are over and I’ve managed to have a plant-based diet this entire time. Because of that, this needs to be the most honest post I’ve written so far. I’m not saying I lied in previous posts, I didn’t, it’s just that I feel I have the responsibility to tell things exactly like they are (and were), not to sugar coat difficulties, and to be truthful about how I’m feeling today, the 30th of October and 30th day of my 30 day vegan challenge. Sitting here, in front of my computer, writing the last post of the…

Third Week – What do I usually eat?
(clique aqui para versão em português) Week three is officially over and I couldn’t be happier. I’m starting week four full of strength and determination. Since my feelings are very similar to the ones I had finishing week two, I decided to change a little bit the content of the weekly checkup post and show how my week looks like when it comes to food. Hope you like it! When someone says they are vegan, we tend to wonder what they eat. Do vegans only eat salad? These past weeks I’ve been eating 100% plant-based, and, obviously, some of my habits had to change and I had to find…

Second Week
(clique aqui para versão em português) Week number two has just finished and week three is taking over. I always get really surprised on how time flies. A little while ago I was still eating meat and fish and getting ready to start the challenge. I was worried about reacting to people’s opinion, going to a friend’s place or even going out for dinner. I was afraid not to be able to satisfy my sugar cravings and wanting to cut sugar of my diet at the same time, but here I am, going strong and standing by my decision. This past week was very important on building my mindset.…

First Week
(clique aqui para versão em português) First week is in the books! Finally, I can honestly say that I had a 100% plant-based diet for a whole week and I lived to tell the tale. I feel so much more confident in what I’m doing at the moment and this makes me believe that I’ll find the whole experience to be a success. I know that you’re curious about what I felt during this first week, both psychologically and physically. So, without further ado, I will answer the most common questions I get from people regarding my experience. Did you miss meat and fish? No, I did not. As I…

Vegetarian vs Vegan vs Plant-Based
(clique aqui para versão em português) Since I launched my blog I’ve been receiving a few questions about the nature of my challenge. Am I going to extend my veganism to clothes, cosmetics, toiletries, etc? So I decided to write about the subject to end all doubts. No, for these first 30 days I will only be focusing on having a vegan diet, which means that my restrictions will only apply to food. These questions got me thinking if I was using the correct term to explain my challenge. Should I be using ther term plant-based instead of vegan, then? Here is a small explanation on how these terms differ…

3 Biggest Fears on Going Vegan for 30 days
(clique aqui para versão em português) After writing about the 3 reasons that are making me go vegan for 30 days, is only logical to explain my 3 biggest fears (or reasons why this diet hasn’t worked for me yet). If I care so much about the animals’ wellbeing (which I definitely do) why haven’t I gone vegan 8 months ago when M embarked on his journey? Well, I’m not saying my reasons are easy to understand or if everyone will relate to them, but they are mine and I’m not ashamed of them. Here they are: Sweets. I have a huge sweet tooth and a very soft spot for everything…

3 Reasons to be Vegan for 30 days
(clique aqui para versão em português) Hello everyone! This is my very first post on this blog and I hope you stick around and be my company on this journey! First I want to say that I’m not a nutritionist, a doctor, or even a chef, so everything I will write here will be purely based on my researches, personal experiences and opinions. I’ve decided to create this small internet space, not only because I love avocados, but also to share my thoughts and struggles, recipes and tips about my first 30 days being 100% vegan! I believe it will be easier if I feel the “pressure” of having a…
