Week 4 – The End Of The Challenge!

(clique aqui para versão em português)   Suddenly this is it. The thirty days are over and I’ve managed to have a plant-based diet this entire time. Because of that, this needs to be the most honest post I’ve written so far. I’m not saying I lied in previous posts, I didn’t, it’s just that I feel I have the responsibility to tell things exactly like they are (and were), not to sugar coat difficulties, and to be truthful about how I’m feeling today, the 30th of October and 30th day of my 30 day vegan challenge. Sitting here, in front of my computer, writing the last post of the…

    Eating Out

(clique aqui para versão em português) Where to go? For a vegan living in Portugal, eating out can be an adventure. Even though in big cities like Oporto and Lisbon is easy to find vegetarian restaurants or even some vegan ones, outside of these places can be very difficult. It is true that most restaurants are starting to have vegetarian options in their menus, but the traditional ones that revolve around codfish, grilled fish and a lot of meat dishes, usually don’t. And note that I said vegetarian, not vegan. I believe that if it is a bit confusing for people not eating meat or fish, it is even stranger…

    Second Week

(clique aqui para versão em português)   Week number two has just finished and week three is taking over. I always get really surprised on how time flies. A little while ago I was still eating meat and fish and getting ready to start the challenge. I was worried about reacting to people’s opinion, going to a friend’s place or even going out for dinner. I was afraid not to be able to satisfy my sugar cravings and wanting to cut sugar of my diet at the same time, but here I am, going strong and standing by my decision. This past week was very important on building my mindset.…

    First Week

(clique aqui para versão em português) First week is in the books! Finally, I can honestly say that I had a 100% plant-based diet for a whole week and I lived to tell the tale. I feel so much more confident in what I’m doing at the moment and this makes me believe that I’ll find the whole experience to be a success. I know that you’re curious about what I felt during this first week, both psychologically and physically. So, without further ado, I will answer the most common questions I get from people regarding my experience. Did you miss meat and fish? No, I did not. As I…
